A classic left standing still doesn't just wait — it deteriorates. Batteries flatten and sulphate. Tyres take a set where they sit. Fluids settle, seals dry, and small problems become expensive ones over a winter of neglect. CMR Car Storage exists to stop that. We're a small, specialist facility near Callington in Cornwall — 19 bays, run properly — looking after classic, sports and prestige cars for owners across Cornwall and Devon, including Saltash, Plymouth, Tavistock, Liskeard, Truro and Bodmin.

We started in classic cars and that's still where our attention goes. Supercars and modern classics are welcome, but every bay is managed to the standard a 40-year-old car needs, not the standard a daily hatchback would tolerate.

What your car gets, as standard

Every car on the Safe & Sound package (£50/week) gets:

• A dedicated indoor bay — your car, your space, not shuffled around

• A CTEK smart battery conditioner kept connected throughout the stay

• A breathable indoor cover that keeps dust off the paintwork

• A safe wash on arrival, and one free safe wash every month it's with us

• A written arrival inspection report, so the car's condition on the day it arrived is on record

• Wheel chocks, 24/7 monitored CCTV backed by a police-linked, professionally monitored dual-com alarm system

For cars that sit for months — Preservation

The Preservation package (£60/week) adds the things that matter over a long lay-up: Tyre Dox tyre cushions to spread the load and reduce flat-spotting, two safe washes a month, regular fluid leak and level checks, and 10% off any detailing work. You can also add a Carcoon (£6/week) or a monthly start-up to temperature (£5/week) to keep everything turning over.

How much does classic car storage cost?

One weekly rate covers your bay and everything in the package, with no joining fee: £50/week on Safe & Sound, £60/week on Preservation. Optional extras are added only if you want them. Full breakdown in the pricing FAQ below.

SORN, recommissioning and getting it back on the road

Plenty of the cars we store are SORN'd for the winter or between shows. We're happy to keep a car on a maintenance routine while it's declared off-road, and to have it washed, checked and ready for the date you want it back. Collection needs 48 hours' notice. If you'd rather not drive it back yourself, we can help arrange covered transport.

The building near Callington is secure indoor storage, not climate-controlled; what protects your car here is the battery conditioning, breathable covers, tyre cushions and 24/7 monitoring.

FAQ

• How much does classic car storage cost? Storage starts at £50 per week on the Safe & Sound package and £60 per week on Preservation. Optional extras such as a Carcoon (£6/week), a monthly start-up to temperature (£5/week) and additional safe washes (£45) are added only if you want them. There is no joining fee.

• Do you only take classic cars? No. Classics are our focus, but we store sports cars, supercars and modern classics too. Every car gets the same care.

• Can I visit my car? Yes, with 48 hours' notice so we can have it accessible and ready.

• What if my car is SORN? That's fine — many of ours are. We'll keep it maintained off-road and ready for your return date.

• Do you charge to get my car ready to collect? A safe wash and basic checks before collection are included. Detailing beyond that is quoted separately.
