Short-term car storage isn't always about a winter lay-up. Sometimes you're moving house and the new place isn't ready. Sometimes a renovation has taken over the garage and the driveway. Sometimes you've bought a car before you've sorted somewhere to keep it, or you're between homes for a few months. CMR Car Storage offers short-term, flexible storage for exactly these situations — from our facility near Callington in Cornwall, serving Plymouth, Saltash, Tavistock, Liskeard, Truro and the surrounding area.

Stays start from two weeks. If you need longer, that's not a problem — and if your plans shift, your car will be washed, checked and ready whenever you need it back.

No long tie-in

Flexible storage means what it says. There's no annual contract and no penalty for a short stay. You tell us roughly how long you expect to need, we agree a weekly rate, and we settle up at the end based on the actual time. If a two-week move turns into six weeks, that's fine.

Your car still gets the full treatment

Short stay or long, the care is the same: a dedicated indoor bay, a CTEK smart battery conditioner connected throughout, a breathable cover, a safe wash on arrival, an arrival inspection report, and 24/7 monitored CCTV backed by a police-linked, professionally monitored dual-com alarm system. Full spec is on our storage packages page. The extras — Tyre Dox tyre cushions, a Carcoon, additional safe washes — are available even on a short booking.

Common reasons people use short-term storage

• Moving house: completion dates slip. Keep the car safe and out of the way until you're in.

• Renovation or building work: dust, scaffolding and tradesmen's vans are no place for a good car.

• Driveway overflow: a second or third car with nowhere secure to sit, especially over a busy few weeks.

• Between homes: a rental gap, a job relocation, a few months away that don't quite justify a long-term arrangement.

• New purchase: you've bought the car; the garage space is still a work in progress.

Getting the car in and out

Bringing the car to us is easiest, but if you're mid-move and stretched, we can help arrange covered transport. Collection needs 48 hours' notice so we can have the car ready and washed for you. Same on the way in — give us a day or two's warning and we'll be set up for your arrival.

The building near Callington is secure indoor storage, not climate-controlled; for a few weeks or a few months, the battery conditioning, covers and monitoring are what a standing car needs.

• Is my car covered while it's with you? Insurance is something we'll talk through with you directly before your car arrives — not something to settle from a web page.

• Can you store a non-runner? Usually yes. Tell us in advance so we can plan access.
